Agree with this ^ Crouch shades it for me.

RE: The Official Premiership Thread - dblooder - 04-05-2012

It is a stunner but there are at least 20 goals in the past 20 seasons better than that.

RE: The Official Premiership Thread - keefa - 04-05-2012

Did the public vote for it? These things always get ruined by a public vote.

RE: The Official Premiership Thread - Walks - 04-05-2012

Yeah, Paul voted for it Mrgreen

Personally, I voted for Le Tissier

RE: The Official Premiership Thread - keefa - 04-05-2012

That explains it all. Wink

RE: The Official Premiership Thread - deanashtonsfoot - 04-05-2012

Clearly Di Canio should have won. Wink

RE: The Official Premiership Thread - Walks - 04-05-2012

Not really daf, he was wearing the wrong colour shirt Mrgreen

RE: The Official Premiership Thread - dblooder - 04-05-2012

If Di Canio played between 1939 and 1945 would have been a Wermacht captain for sure. A foosball one naturally.

RE: The Official Premiership Thread - darthpaul - 04-05-2012

Yep really Smile 26% of voters said so Tongue after all it was an online poll.

In the same way UK voters think Labour are better in their councils than government (not that we had a vote in my area) well the ones that bothered to go anyway. Labour now think they are ready to govern again LOL

RE: The Official Premiership Thread - deanashtonsfoot - 04-05-2012

We're going off-topic here, but Labour can't possibly do any worse than Cameron and his cronies. [/politics]

Back on-topic:

RE: The Official Premiership Thread - dblooder - 04-05-2012

Good news for Spuds those are. And while we are at the chasing 4th place what happens if Chelski wins CL and finishes below 4th?
Will England have five teams in CL or will the 4th placed team suck arse in Europa league?

RE: The Official Premiership Thread - keefa - 04-05-2012

4th placed team suck arse in Europa League.

RE: The Official Premiership Thread - dblooder - 04-05-2012

What happened few years back when 'Pool won the CL and then started the season after that at the first rounds of preliminary in CL? Didn't England have 5 teams then in the tournament?

RE: The Official Premiership Thread - deanashtonsfoot - 04-05-2012

I think they brought the rule in because of that, because they hadn't planned for that situation occurring.

They decided they didn't want any nation to have more than 4 clubs in the CL. As it is I think Everton finished 4th that season, but failed to qualify for the group stage anyway.

I don't see why they have a problem with a nation having 5 clubs in the CL really. It doesn't happen all that often (would this be the 2nd time ever if it happens?), and when it does it just goes to show the strength of the league.

RE: The Official Premiership Thread - Walks - 04-05-2012

Yes dblooder, that season we had 5 teams in the CL, however because of that UEFA ruled that if a team wins the tournament but finishes outside the placings for a qualifying berth then the last team to qualify will miss out.

RE: The Official Premiership Thread - dblooder - 04-05-2012

Spot on daf and same here. If the scenario occurs then yes, that league should be awarded with a +1 team in the competition. But all this talk is for nothing since the Bavarians will win the CL.

RE: The Official Premiership Thread - deanashtonsfoot - 04-05-2012

Maybe so, but then everyone thought Barcelona would beat Chelsea as well. Wink

RE: The Official Premiership Thread - darthpaul - 04-05-2012

But Bayern arent soft poofs like Barca and they endless sideways passing, they will get stuck in and press Chelsea.

RE: The Official Premiership Thread - keefa - 04-05-2012

That's the most fight any of our players have shown all season!
