Rugby The Rugby UNION Thread

6 nations starts on Friday and I can't wait. Really looking forward to this years tournament.

Mike Tindall has been named as England's captain in Lewis Moody's absence, and young flanker Tom Wood has been given his first start in the lions den.

Other news sees Gavin Henson being a twunt as usual. Ban him for life, ffs. More like a pansy footballer than a rugby player.

Agreed. So much for wanting to be near his kids eh? Prick.

More interesting stuff in the real rugby world happening anyway. Such as a little game this Friday. :excited:

As always, the heart says "come on, we can do it!", but the head has to butt in and kill the buzz. If England's forwards can get on the front foot (which I fear they will), then it could be grim viewing for us. I think we're lacking in key areas with injuries, and don't have the same depth England do, so they have to be favourites I think, even in Cardiff. But who knows? It's the 6 Nations. Love it. Woot

Good luck to the Welsh!

In upside-down rugby, new Super Rugby season starts in 2 weeks time. Got my Brumbies membership, looking forward to first home game against the Chiefs of Waikato Thup
Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory since Football Manager on Commodore 64!

Yeah, looking forward to the 6 nations!

If we can replicate our form against the Aussies in the autumn test, we might actually have a chance this year.

Really excited about the game tonight now. Going to go get sheared straight after work, pick up some beers and a pizza and then get back and enjoy the rollercoaster ride of Wales v England.

I know we're playing Wales, but seriously, that's taking "getting into the match experience" a bit too far.

Professionals vs amateurs.

Edit: Come on! (although see how we nearly butchered the try? Rolleyes )

Edit2: FFS! We can't just win or lose can we? Always has to be a drama. Faint

Good efficient performance from England. Deserved winners. We were predictable, lateral, just as the commentators kept saying. England for the Grand Slam.

Brian Moore did my head in. The sooner they get shot of him the better.

The big brother wins \o/ Wink

Moore is always good value taking the piss out the French though.

Mind you the Welsh were taking the piss today £5.50 to join a 30 mile funeral procession into Wales

I wonder if anyone pointed out that Wales has been around longer than England, so technically you lot are the younger brother (albeit bigger admittedly). Wink

Yeah, Brian Moore... what was that thing he said about the cricket guy "I can't think of a more deserving race." or "couldn't have happened to a nicer race" or something? WTF? Doh

Gutted for Italy. So close.

England won't fear either of them though. I hope the France v Scotland game shows us at least one of them looking like they can challenge. It's a one horse race so far.

Yeah, if they had a proper kicker they would have won that game.

Two horse race then? Smile
