We had these once upon a time for funny player names (anyone remember Ice Cream, the Nigerian from FM07 or FM08?) or those badly worded news stories.

Here's one I haven't seen before - a player's scout report describing him as 'slack.' Now I'm not sure about the rest of the country but around here if someone suggests you're slack, it's pretty much the equivalent of one step up from retarded. Certainly put me off signing a promising keeper.

I've see a 'slack' a time or two- I think it is a indication of extremely low professionalism, a step below the 'casual' that you will sometimes see. You were smart to run away from that one Smile

I'm fairly certain I had a useless youth on the books in FM10 whose personality was described as slack and thought he had a good future at the club, not.

I had one as manager of England that made me laugh, it even made the Mrs laugh too, it was based on a players name. I doubt I still have the screenshot, although I'll have a look later, if not I will post the headline as that was the amusing part, although it will involve player naming Sad

Purposely posted this thread in General Discussion so that player names can be used. We're all adults, some of us even claim to be sensible ones - I don't think we need to be overly zealous.

I've had a similar one to that recently, not sure he was out quite that long, think it was about 4-6 months

I will have to get a screenshot of it but one of my scouts/managers has recently suggested that I take a closer look at a "Scott-ish" (sorry, I could not resist) player named "Scott Scott".

I guess his parents had a sense of humour Smile

It's no bug. Quite serious viral infections can take a long time to recover from, partly because they trash your immune system.

As keefa says, Babbel is the example most often quoted.

Gary and Phil's Dad is Neville Neville. Why would you? Why? You'd have to really hate your offspring wouldn't you?

FM seems to have a habit of doubling up on names. I've had a John John before and am pretty sure I've scouted Scott Scott, I'd think it's probably come up with a few Irish along the lines of Neil O'Neil as well.

When my wife and I were brainstorming kids names, she vetoed my suggestion for a boy's name "Frank_Lin" Mrgreen

A couple of days later she then suggested "Cole". I told her I had a good "gut-feeling" about "Cole_Lin" but she then changed her mind Shrug Mrgreen
