Welcome aboard TLF. Not sure being a youngster (please note daf) of 20 when you recall Swindon playing fantastic football. They won the League Cup in the late 60's (that was a good team I'm told) and reached the Premier League in the early 90's for the only time (and were pretty crap) and not done too well since Wink

Looking forward to hearing how you fare in sunny Portugal.

Nice to see you found your way to the Introduction Thread Tony Thup

Haven't seen the film but the book (Damned United) was very good. Still never explained what ever possessed Cloughie to take that job.

Princess Bride a girlie movie? "Inconceivable" "Are you kidding? Fencing, fighting, torture, revenge, giants, monsters, chases, escapes, true love, miracles . . ." Definitely not a girlie movie Mrgreen

With all the above mentioned it sounds more like an ex-wife movie Wink

Welcome Tony! SWOS=Sensible World of soccer football?

And guys, I didn't mean Swindon were ACTUALLY fantastic. But to to my 7 year old mind, beating Port Vale in the cup was akin to beating Barca away. Mrgreen I've matured now. Heck, when I was a boy, Poxford were in the same division as us, now look...oh... Sad

100 years from now, it will not matter what kind of car I drove, what kind of house I lived in, how much money I had in my bank account, nor what my clothes looked like; but the world may be a little better because I was important in the life of a child.
