Here's where we tell each other who we really are:

Let's try to keep chit-chat to a minimum so the thread doesn't get clogged up.

Real Name: Chris
Age: 32
Location: Brighton
Nationality: English
Occupation: Marketing Manager (yes, urgh)
Other Aliases: daf or (thanks to Keefa) dafster. Mrgreen

Geek Factor: CM since CM2 in 93 or whenever it was. Although stuck with CM00/01 for years before finally upgrading to FM07. Have been a LLaMa since then.
Non-geek Hobbies: Watching football, music, gigs, festivals and more music. In fact I have been known to take my love of music to rather geeky levels, including unneccesarily detailed end of year best of lists, so maybe this isn't relevant in this section. Mrgreen
Preferred Music: Mostly indie I guess - most played on my stereo in recent months have probably been Arcade Fire, Radiohead, Blur, Cloud Control, Warpaint, Parlovr and TV on the Radio.
Three Games (not FM): Goldeneye and F1 2009 on the Wii, plus Civ 4 on the PC.
Three Films (sequels/franchises count as one): Original Star Wars trilogy, Pulp Fiction, Godfather Trilogy

LLM?: Zealot since 2007.

Personal stuff I don't mind sharing: I got married in September this year and so far I'm loving every minute of it. Although to be honest, not much has changed as me and the missus have been living together for nearly 6 years already. Smile

P.S. don't tell the wife, but I forgot my wedding ring today. It's on the shelf in the bathroom. Sssshhh.....I'd better get home before her today. Mrgreen

Personal stuff I don't mind sharing: It's my birthday today.

Location: Barnsley
Nationality: Passport says British
Occupation: Chronically depressed carer for a 'disabled' child
Other Aliases: jptykes (if it's capitalised it ain't me Wink )

Geek Factor: FM since the C64. CM since Amiga. Owned every version except CM4. Qualified referee. Regular QI watcher. Think Monk is :fb: Abhor txttlk Angry Almost certainly on the Autistic Spectrum. Bit of variety in the form of some rock/metal/electronic stuff. Hate R&B and heavily sampled types of music. Anyone that completely ruins a song with a needless cover version will be first against the wall when I am king - That means YOU, Ronan Bastard Keating!!
Three Games (not FM): Oh feck Sad Don't play much but FM these days. Erm, Dally with the Call Of Duty series, various Mario titles and Gran Turismo. Does Bejewelled Blitz count?
Three Films (sequels/franchises count as one): Original Star Wars trilogy, Se7en, Shawshank Redemption. Watch a lot of Disney-Pixar stuff due to having kids and find most of them enjoyable Blush

I read that earlier this year and thought it was really good. In the last week I finished the sequel 'The Girl Who Played With Fire', clearly liked it because I started the third in the trilogy the day after. Let me know what you think of it when you've finished. I've not seen any of the Swedish films or Amercian remakes, will finish the third book before I do so.

A bit about me...

Real Name: Barry
Age: 35
Location: Preston
Nationality: British
Occupation: Mailroom Supervisor in Local Government
Other Aliases: None

Geek Factor: Got into Football Manager on the Spectrum in the 80's, had a daliance with a management sim in the mid-late 90's. Old PC couldn't even handle FM06, so when I bought a new PC I bought FM08, addicted ever since.
Non-geek Hobbies: I run and race once a month, prefer long distances, Preston supporter, spent far too many hours travelling home and away with them but these days am more of an armchair fan, looking forward to us going down so we can lose our delusions of granduer and then it'll be good again! I also love watching MMA, used to be a big pro wrestling fan, don't watch it these days but still very interested in the business side of things.
Preferred Music: I consider myself to have quite eclectic tastes, not into very much from the last decade though. Prefer things noisy and / or fast. As liable to listen to Johnny Cash as evil digital hardcore as camp pop music (think Steps). Currently loving lots of old metal from the 80's like Manowar, lots of anarcho punk, drum and bass (jump up or darkside not really 'chilled'), ragga, dub reggae and ska (like from Jamaica in the 50's and 60's not ska punk or anything). Used to be in a punk band in the 90's dead proud of touring Europe with them and releasing stuff on vinyl. If you stole my large but mostly listened to once record collection and left me with all my Iron Maiden and Misfits records I'd be happy.
Three Games (not FM): Just FM, I've had spells with other sim / civilisation / war type games but FM has been constant since I bought it.
Three Films (sequels/franchises count as one): Star Wars (umastered first three) Wizard Of Oz, Rocky III (love Italian giallo and Japanese cinema too)

LLM?: Had a couple of non-LLM seasons, discovered LLM Britain when admittedly stuck getting thrashed every game. Realised I always tried to play as realistically as I could. Pretended I'd never read anything on a tactical forum ever. Never going to play any other way again.

Personal stuff I don't mind sharing: I tend to be relatively private on a forum until I've got to know people, still most of you will have seen my good news in the off topic thread in the other place.
