What a miss by Sturridge. Reckon Emile could have buried that.

So the FA finally makes a first move and it's in Hodgson's direction.

It seems that 'arry then has ruined his season for nothing.

I suspect the poor run Spurs have been on has helped sway the FA in Hodgson's direction.

And a good direction it is. Wheeler - Dealer is not a national team material.

Woy for Engwand? Should be interesting. I think he'd do a better job than Harry would have anyway

The £10 million needed to buy Harry out of his Spuds contract probably didn't help either. Hodgson's contract at the Baggies is up this summer so can be approached immedately.

He's a good manager, I just hope he gets a fair crack at it before the media start their usual back lash. England won't win the Euros regardless of whose in charge, best case scenario is a QF berth or SF if the draw is favourable. I imagine the usual "England Expects" mularkey will start soon, if it hasn't already.

Looks like Italy or Spain in the QF, so no chance. Mrgreen

Tbh, I don't even think finishing 3rd in the group should be seen as total failure. We have a hard group - we've not beaten France for 15 years, we ALWAYS seem to draw with Sweden, and Ukraine are at home. It's not going to be easy.

Couple that with a shambolic build up to the tournament even by our standards, and qualifying from the group suddenly looks like it would be a big achievement.

I just hope the media recognise this and don't hound Hodgson if we do fail in this tournament. If they don't, it could be the shortest honeymoon period of any England manager ever with him being branded a turkey within 2 months of taking over.

Poor Roy. Built up a reputation at Fulham, torn to shreds quite quickly at Liverpool. Doing a good job at the Baggies... yeah, get ready to be torn to shreds by the only people more demanding than Liverpool fans - Englishmen Sad
