Is it possible that the fn key has become toggled to be permanently on? Seemed to stop the function keys working on my girlfriend's laptop.

How would I check (and undo) that?

Try this

Also, there may be a function key behaviour option in the BIOS, but I've never looked for or seen it in there (don't use laptops very often, only for work)

Really appreciate that. Saved me a trip into town, thanks. Feel a bit daft not seeing the key though Blush Thanks to keefa as well! Smile

Took receipt of my new Macbook Pro Retina 15 inch today, Haswell chipset means apart from being remarkably slim it lasts longer on the battery too Thup

I've just ordered a new FHD screen and FHD data cable for my laptop. Can't wait to get round to installing them.

Took delivery of the screen last Friday, and thought I'd wait until the data cable arrived before installing it as it seemed pointless opening the thing up twice when once should do the trick. As the cable still hasn't arrived I got impatient and popped the screen in last night. It's usable but not great.

US Postal Service/Royal Mail, just get the bloody cable to me, ffs!! Mad

Keep getting a low memory warning and I don't really know what to do to resolve it. Apparently it's to do with how many programs I'm running at once but the only things I have open at once most of the time are my browser and skype. Not sure if it's related but lately my browser seems to be crashing a lot too, starting with tabs dying before it apparently won't respond at random.

Which browser are you using? Which OS are you running? How much RAM does your computer have?

...And more to the point is the warning coming from your OS or some sneaky spyware or the like?

Oh and yeah, it's from Windows the warning.

Just a standard windows message then. Can you load task manager and look at the processes tab? That will tell you how much memory is being used. Also, is it a desktop or a laptop?
