Interesting idea, Kin, although I'm not sure I need further justification for my already long-winded updates. Mrgreen

Al, nice to see you; very sorry to hear about the family illness, thinking of you.

Its all good mate, I am creating the ebook format to allow me to read the career threads while I am on the bus to work. Just creating the library to share them with everybody.

How many dls did these get Kin?
100 years from now, it will not matter what kind of car I drove, what kind of house I lived in, how much money I had in my bank account, nor what my clothes looked like; but the world may be a little better because I was important in the life of a child.

Only a couple each (shows for me in behind each file link, can you see the bracket with the size of the file and downloads?)

Can we get an update to some more of these? Perhaps linking both the epub and the actual update on here? Would be cool for us all to look back on some of these.

Did we ever get around to publishing these on the main site?

Does it take a lot of know-how to create an epub file?

Most of the ones that I have done were careers that were already published in html on the website. However, with the limitations of how many links I can attach in a forum post then it would be good if I "pull my finger out" work out how to use WordPress and create the library of epubs as a webpage on the main site.

JD - to be honest it is very simple, just time consuming. Copy-paste text from the career threads into a file (docx, rtf or html). Use the free calibre epublishing software to convert into epub format (there is a bit of fiddling that I am still learning to get it formatted correctly and to get it to produce a table of contents).

Thanks kin. If I'm successful at giving it a go with one of my own I've got spare time enough to do some if anyone would like.

No problems JD, would appreciate the help if you have the time. Even if you just copy-paste the docx/rtf/html file, I can reformat it into the template I have been using and use Calibre to prepare the epub file, that would save me a lot of time.

Just think of all that time holidaying between jobs. JD will be able to get most of the updates copied over for you!
