Most of these updates are fucking pointless.

Agreed. It's getting to a stage where they should release the game every other year (or 3 years, whatever) and just release these smaller tweaks along with database updates in between. Now where was that business model used successfully before?

Oh yes, that's right, the original ChampMan series!

You mean the less profitable business model? Can't imagine why they wouldn't want to go back to that.

They still sold shit loads every year, because people want the latest squads etc. You just knew it wasn't a "new game" with "loads of new features" until they updated the game number.

I must say, not much is taking my interest in terms of FM16's features for my LLM playstyle.

What about FM15? How did those of you who moved to it find it suiting the LLM life? FM14 is what I've played all my recent saves on, so that's my yard stick.

I didn't find the step from FM14 to FM15 to make that much of a difference.

Some "features" you just don't use. Though a lot of those new features are only in classic mode, which I don't use anyway.

I don't think the step to FM16 will cause us any trouble either. Regarding those new features, some don't affect gameplay anyway, but for the others just don't use them if they're not appropriate.

Just checked on Steam the number of hours spent playing the last few versions. FM15 somehow I've managed 74 hours. In reality it's probably half that, but I would have loaded the game up, then carried on surfing the web/doing other things without closing the game down so it's still running.
FM14 was a bit better and I spent 383 hours playing that one, still not much by my standards.
FM10 is the winner though with 1626 hours of gameplay, closely followed by FM12 with 1592 hours and then FM13 with 1028 hours.

It's not that I think FM15 is any worse than the others, just I can't find the motivation to get into the game at the moment. It's been like that for a year or so. Iirc I struggled in a similar way with FM14, but I persevered with it and powered through. I always seem to find the first season or 2 the hardest, almost as if they are a bit of a chore at times.

Still, I'll more than likely get hold of FM16 when it comes out, I usually pre-order every year, not sure that I will this time though.

I always wait for the demo version to come out to have a quick poke around. If something irks me the wrong way, I'll skip it. Doesn't usually happen though, but I remember a version where the menus were just so horrible (too small, hard to select something and they closed as soon as your mose drifted off by a pixel), that I knew that one wasn't for me. Don't quite recall which one it was... FM2011 maybe?

I don't think I've ever pre-ordered any software.

I never look at hours played though. I often keep stuff running in the background, so when I want to pop back onto it, I don't have to wait for it to start up again. Tongue

I'll be sure to report back on how easy it is to find a job after multiple firings/dressing room revolts. Mrgreen

Found 15 on sale quite cheap and got it, probably won't be bothered with 16. Lol

Walks: I note that FM14 (3512 hours) finally beat my record with FM12 (3206). FM13 barely got 1000 hours, FM11 was lucky to get 200. Sadly my copies of 2007, 2010 are offline so I can't vouch for hours on those.

FM11 will probably have my record closely followed by 13 and 14.

No idea what 11 had as it was the last pre-steam copy, but I was on it nigh on constantly when I wasn't at school... Lol

12 was an absolute dog for me.

Yeah, FM11 would be my record for online activated games. My 24 year stay at Worcester City was really enjoyable.

FM11 was my worst for hours played, partly because I had such a great save with FM10 but also because I struggled to get into it.

Can't remember which version it was but the save I had that started and ended in Iceland ran to almost 50 seasons iirc. Must have sunk some serious hours into that one.

Just tried to hunt down that thread. Thought it was on here but it turns out it must have been LLM-B days. Had a look for the site and its gone. Quite sad really, partly because there'll always be an affinity to the place no matter the manner of it all falling apart but also because there will be some classic threads lost forever. Kind of feel guilty I didn't make some kind of concerted effort to move the majority over, even if just for nostalgia's sake 😯

Yeah, I went looking for my FM10 save only to find FMB had gone. Shame really. I might have a copy of your update JP I'm not sure, but I'll have a look when I get in from work.

I remember in the 'older versions' it used to pop up the amount of time you'd spent playing as the game loaded, along with a one liner relating to it. Where do you check now?

It still does for your saves, don't know if it does for the game as a whole though.
